Name<\/strong>: Metal Dice Set (Brushed Silver With Rainbow Numbers). Terribly un-creative name.

Description<\/strong>: A set of 7 sharp edge metal dice in a brushed silver finish with carved numbers in a Helvetica-adjacent font in a rainbow of colors. The d10s have edged waists and the numbers on the d% are sideways. The zeroes on the d10 are slightly smaller than the other digits, but only on that one die (because the numbers are sideways on the die faces). The font uses an underbar on the 6 and 9 faces. (as the kids say these days: Lets goooooo!)

Size:<\/strong> d20<\/strong>: (Face->Face) 19.8 mm (Point->Point) 24.5 mm

Where did they come from:<\/strong>\u00a0Dark Elf Dice. I bought these along with the Love Song set in dice review 022 – Bizarre Love Triangle<\/a>

How much did they cost<\/strong>:\u00a0 $18.95 (marked down for some reason?)

Material \/ color<\/strong>:\u00a0Flat brushed silver metal (Zinc?) with rainbow colored numbers

Quality<\/strong>:\u00a0Very good. I see a few very tiny dings on edges (that I might have caused rolling them) and maybe one tiny pock mark that I needed a magnifying glass to find. If they’re B-grade dice, they’re the nicest B-grade dice I’ve ever seen. They look great.

Readability<\/strong>: Not very good. This is entirely due to the rainbow color on the numbers. It’s hard to read the double-digit numbers at an angle. The die faces effectively have a narrow viewing angle.

Value<\/strong>: Incredible. If you like the rainbow color of the numbers, this is a fantastic bargain that would be insane to pass up.

Overall Rating<\/strong>: 9\/10<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ship names and descriptions<\/strong>\u00a056 – The Century Hawk – A crappy looking cargo skiff with a charismatic captain and an unkempt Tabaxi first mate who speaks no common. The captain claims the ship is fast but his boasts make no sense. A second inner hull allows goods to be smuggled in secret compartments.

The phone really captured that brushing. It’s much smoother to the naked eye.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Final Thoughts:<\/strong> I was looking at Dark Elf Dice’s website after getting a promotional email from them saying “come look at the dice on our website!” (good job marketing team) and I saw this set and immediately put them in my cart. If you haven’t caught on by now, I love color in things. Dice, cars, paintings, photographs, ink for my fountain pens, etc… so the rainbow numbers on these dice were pleasing to my eyes. The brushed silver sides look very clean when viewed at the right angle.

To address the small elephant in the room, I know that things with rainbows on them are often associated with the LGBTQ+ community which is something that I openly support (Because they’re people and no different than anyone else and deserve everyone’s support). I didn’t buy the dice specifically as a sign of support or to send a message, the brushed metal and rainbows just looked good to me visually. That’s all I’ll say about that.

Dark Elf dice made a really nice set of dice here. Smooth, nice edges, a brushed finish, which is something that I’m starting to see more of recently and clean numbers inked in a new way. This is the first set I’ve seen inked in a rainbow color scheme. To offer these dice for $19 is a steal. Dark Elf is leaving money on the table here. They could charge $35 a set and still sell a ton of them. Unless these dice rust in 6 months, they’re probably one of the best bargains I’ve ever seen in a set of dice. See about getting a set for yourself. They’re a steal!
