Name<\/strong>: Poseidon’s fury Frosted Royal-Blue Sharp Edge dice set

Description<\/strong>: This is a standard set of seven sharp edge opaque Royal blue resin dice. They also look a tiny bit like unpolished sea glass if there were holofoil inside of the glass. The d4 is the “Extended Shard” shape instead of the traditional tetrahedron (3 sided pyramid). The font used is again the Standard Viridian font… Gothic, similar to Texturina and Cloister Black. The numbers are carved in the faces and inked in gold. The 6 and 9 faces use underbars to indicate their orientation. The d10s have sharp edged waists.

Final Thoughts:<\/strong> In my last order from Viridian Dice, I ordered 3 sets of dice and one chonk d20. Viridian also threw in a cheap set of plastic dice similar to one set that I ordered… Mistake or gift, I’ll never know. Anyway, this set of dice was the catalyst for the order. I saw these dice on their website and knew that I needed them. My Cleric died last session and I started the next session with a new Aasimar Paladin.

I don’t know where this came from but I associate the color blue with Paladins so this is another set of blue dice that I wanted to use with my new character. Even better that these have holofoil inside of them to give a faint shimmer as if you were looking underwater at a golden treasure. Aasimars are also said to occasionally have shimmering skin so… bonus!

These dice are also similar to beach glass with their frosted look and the rough sides that weren’t polished. The Royal blue color of these dice is just gorgeous to my eyes. The gold font looks great and at the same time it both contrasts with the blue resin and matches the gold holofoil inside. Whoever designed these should have praise showered on them. I just love the look of them and once again I’d buy these if they came in other colorways. (Do I say that too much?). Anyway, gorgeous math rocks.

The set are a nice size, the edges and vertices are all well finished, and the d4 is in the extended shard shape for this set. I have other dice sets that have shard d4s but this might be the first extended shard d4 in my collection. I think I prefer the extended version of the shard over the standard one. I still like the tetrahedron d4 (standard pyramid) shape best for d4 dice though. I say that as someone who has never stepped on one. Maybe I’d change my tune the first time I had to have my foot sewn up.

Okay, overall, I obviously really like these dice and I can’t wait to rock up to my D&D game tomorrow night with a dice box full of blue dice of different materials, shapes and designs. Here’s to hoping that Viridian sells a lot of these dice and decides to make them in other colors. While you’re waiting for that to happen, pick up a set for yourself. At $25, you’d be a fool not to.
