Each face of each die has a Grim Reaper with two crossed scythes on it. The edges all have little detailed rings/bands around them. The dice were made by Foam Brain games and sold by Guardian Games. The font is a highly stylized gothic sans-serif font that has only a slight similarity with fonts like Space Toaster and Comic Strip (not Comic Sans). Whoever designed these dice probably made the font up. It almost looks like someone’s handwriting. One strange thing about the font is that the number seven looks out of place with the rest of the numbers. It looks similar to the Fender Guitars backwards “F” logo with a big curve in the ascender / elbow area. Photo examples below. The 6 and 9 faces use dots to indicate their orientation. The dice came in a metal tin with protective foam cutouts. These are available in a few other colorways and from what I’ve seen, this one is the best.

Size:
d20: (Face->Face) 24.89 mm (Point->Point) They’re such a great color (the shade of blue and the metal glint of it plus the contrast of the bronze colored numbers). They’re also a good bit bigger than a standard set of dice. Who buys standard sets of dice these days though? Like some (but not all) hollow dice, they made such a great jingling sound when you shake them in your hand. This is the main benefit of hollow metal dice, the jingle.

The faces of each die have cool grim reaper designs on them with crossed scythes. They’re a bit hard to make out until you look up close at them as they’re all just the same blue color as the frames of the dice, but the detail on them is impressive. I don’t see any flaws or mistakes on any of the faces. They are very lightweight (as most hollow metal dice are) so they wander when they roll and you get the motion on the d20 where it’ll seem like it’s settling on one face and then it backs up to stop on an adjacent face. Some of that is because the faces on the dice aren’t completely flat due to the numbers sticking out a little bit.

These are some of (if not the) best metal dice I have seen. Also, I don’t know why, but blue dice equate to Paladin in my head, so if I ever play a Paladin (hint hint), I’ll be bringing these dice to the table along with another set of hollow blue metal dice that I have which I just noticed that I haven’t yet reviewed here. I’ll have to put them on my list. At $65, these are reasonably priced. Not a big bargain but not gouging the customer either. I don’t know if you normal folks who aren’t dice goblins need to get these, but oh they’re wonderful if you’re a goblin like me.

** I’ve added a new value to the reviews called “Chi-square” which is a calculation of the difference between of the number of times each value was rolled in the d20 roll test compared to the number of times each value would be rolled in a perfectly equal roll test. (perfectly equal means every value comes up the same number of times, or [total number of rolls / number of sides on the die]) Chi-square gives a sense of how far away from the statistical average the results of the d20 roll test were. It’s not a perfect measure of a die’s balance and fairness but it’s a good step in that direction. More information about die fairness / balance roll testing can be found here: https://rpg.stackexchange.com/questions/70802/how-can-i-test-whether-a-die-is-fair

Hollow metal blue dice that give a perfect jingle in your little Goblin hands Name: Grim Scythe Blue Metal RPG dice set Description: This is a set of larger than standard size hollow metal dice that are blue with bronze colored numbers.
