The colors are just a shade or two off of the standard ROYGBIV rainbow which I think makes them just that much better. The numbers are engraved and inked in gold. These dice are the same shape/size/font as the dice in post #098 The Perfect Kiss, so I’ll just use the same comments on the font that I did there… The font is once again some mis-mash of other styles. It’s got some elements of Times New Roman but a single left-facing Serif on the foot of the 4 which is quite uncommon. I’ve only found Brillante to have that foot on the 4 so far. The dice also have a 6 and 9 where their upper terminal wraps around almost meeting their mid-lines as you’d see on fonts like Los Feliz and Typewriter. The 6 and 9 faces use underbars to indicate their orientation. The dice came in a cardboard box with a piece of thick dense foam that had cutouts for each die to fit into. Very secure.

Size:
d20: (Face->Face) 22.53 mm (Point->Point) 26.56 mm

Where did they come from: URWizards

How much did they cost: $54 (I had a 15% discount code. regular price: $64)

Material / color: Resin in a rainbow of colors: red, orange, yellow, green, light blue, dark blue, purple.

Quality: Very good. No de-molding marks on these. They could have used a slight bit more polishing for some of the very small pits but still gorgeous to look at.

Readability: Decent. Thin gold fonts are never going to be easy to read.

Value: Fair. These are premium facet-cut resin dice. I wondered if I’d make it to 100. I also hoped that when I did that my Kickstarter set of super-fancy dice would have arrived and been the subject of review #100. Sadly they were delayed and URWizards just released a few lovely sets of dice that I just had to have. Happy 100th review to me. Now onto my blathering about these lovely math rocks….

These dice are just gorgeous. The colors are a little different than you’d expect in a rainbow and the facet cuts make them even fancier. These are very similar to the other set of dice I bought from URWizards (post 098: The Perfect Kiss). They’re the same size and shape (facet cut) but these have color all the way through like they’re pieces of fancy hard candy while and the other set have color centers like a semi-transparent gummy candy. I love the way that these look. Bright colors and I get along very well.

As usual, the only thing I don’t love about these dice is the font. Thin gold / silver fonts and I don’t get along that well it turns out. Oh well, a little readability won’t get in the way of enjoying these dice. The facet cuts on the d20 makes it much more spherical and thus roll much more before stopping. It’s annoying like the d20 in the Cleric themed set in the previous review was with it’s indecisive jittering back and forth just as it’s about to settle. I just need to use a dice tray for this set.

I’ve been on a little bit of a dice buying spree lately. I hope to quiet that down for a little while. I mean what dice can I possibly need now that I have all of these? There’s probably almost nothing out there that I haven’t seen and need to get, right?? I mean right??

Beauty has a price, and these dice are a great example of that adage.
