This is probably the most beautiful die I’ve ever purchased. I’m a proud goblin

Name: Hallowed Heavens | Frosted Infinity Prism Glass
Description: This is a chonk d20 made of frosted dichroic glass. In normal light it is a soft near-transluscent white color. The glass is frosted, which gives it a gentle white color. The edges are not quite sharp and the frosted glass treatment makes the faces just the tiniest bit rough. The numbers on each face are slightly raised, smooth, and un-inked. The font looks plain and simple at first but then I noticed the slanted “wedge” serifs on the feet of the ones and the slightly domed flag on the top of the five. My font finder couldn’t do much for me. I can’t identify the font but it has elements of Basilia and ITC Clearface among others. The 6 and 9 faces use small dots to indicate their orientation. This chonk d20 came in a small plastic box similar to what you’d have for a wedding ring that you were about to propose with. The case has a tiny LED light in the lid that turns on when you open it.

I’m adding +5 (WIS), +5 (average of 2d4 for bless and emboldening bond), and +6 resilient WIS to each roll. Just be glad I didn’t dip into Rogue or Bard for expertise…

(This is an excuse for rolling dice under a very specific contrived scenario)
Random Tables rolls (6d20):
Rare Eberron Gods: 51 – Shevarash: God of Vengeance and Retribution. Shevarash is an ancient deity dedicated to protecting elven culture from its enemies, both in the physical realm and in the spiritual realm. He is a staunch defender of justice and will punish those who transgress against elves or their allies. He has a close relationship with Labelas Enoreth, another god of time, as they often work together to bring balance to the world.
Tavern Events: (strangely appropriate) 64 – The inn is flooded with people. Survivers of a battle not far off. Some seem to only have superficial wounds while others are not as lucky. Over the sounds of heavy breathing and moaning the party hears a voice ring out “CLERIC!! We need a cleric!”

Final Thoughts: This is one of those dice that I’ve been after for some time. It’s on my “white whale” list at the bottom of my first post on this blog. It looked great online so I bought it and when I got it home and opened the little faux-leather box that it came in I audibly gasped a “wow!” The top of the box has a tiny white LED light that turns on when the lid is raised. The light illuminates the die and makes it look 10x better than any of these photos that I was able to take with my phone. It’s just an extremely beautiful die. I can’t wait to peacock it at my next in-person game session. It took a long time to find this and it wasn’t cheap but I’m extremely happy with it.
Now, onto this glowy gorgeous hunk of dichroic glass… It’s jumpy when I roll it. It’s large enough, heavy enough to have a little bit of inertia but it still clomps around and stops very quickly. Most rolls stop at about one full revolution of the die which isn’t much. I do love sharp-edge dice because they don’t wander around the dice tray like the standard size cheap plastic d20s that you buy by the dozen or scoop out of a bin at a game store with a cup. The die only doing one revolution before halting is a bit short even for me. I haven’t tried rolling it in my dice tray yet though. When I have the protective walls of the tray, maybe I’ll give it a little bit harder throw.
I also have a standard-size matching set of frosted dichroic dice like this one and they’re the only set of dice that I alway bring to my in-person sessions. I swap probably 1/2 of the dice I bring out for other sets before every session but the frosted dichroic set has never left my dice wallet since I bought them. (see post #40, “The Beautiful Ones”). I suspect that it’ll be largely the same for this chonk d20. It feels like I’d be wasting money if I didn’t bring it with me. It’s like owning a really nice watch and then hardly ever wearing it. I also own a few very nice watches but I have the same problem with my watch collection that I do with my dice collection, I have more than I can use so several of them sit in a box instead of on my wrist. I try to coordinate my watch with my outfit if possible and also just switch it up every morning to look at something different every day. It’s a fun problem to have in my opinion.
Get one of these frosted dichroic d20s, you will never get tired of looking at it’s amazing colors.
