Green metal dice that have the oil slick effect on the points? Yes Please!

Name: ORIFANTOU Metal DND Dice Set

Description: A set of green metal dice with faces that have lines carved into them to form designs. The dice have an oil-slick color on the vertices. The numbers are large and raised in an Arial-esque font. Underbars are used to indicate orientation of the 6 and 9 faces. The edges are almost sharp and the vertices of all dice have blocks added to them. A few of them are sharp but probably not enough to pierce your skin . The d10s have edged waists but with the blocks on the vertices, their waists are well hidden. These dice come in several different colorways and I own 5 sets of these in different colors.

Size:
d20: (Face->Face) 22.5 mm (Point->Point) 28.75 mm

Where did they come from: Amazon (Why do I keep buying from them??)

How much did they cost: $ 26

Material / color: Metal (Zinc), Dark Green rainbow with a very dark oil-slick look with some light green, blue, and violet tones

Quality: Very good. No scuffs or missing color from the sides. The color shift is fantastic

Readability: Not good. The numbers aren’t painted so seeing them right next to you can be a challenge. Forget about reading them from a few feet away

Value: Incredibly good. Depressingly good.

Overall Rating: 9/10

Attempts needed to roll a natural 20: 2 rolls

Ten d20 rolls: 2, 1, 3, 9, 18, 12, 3, 13, 1, 17 (7.9 avg)

4d6 drop 1 stat block: 14, 14, 10, 7, 15, 13 (73 total) A Reluctant Elf Cleric from an underwater monastary who was framed for the murder of a famous and well-loved innkeeper.

For reference: the Standard Array method totals to: 72 and the Point Buy method totals to: 69.

Casting Spirit Guardians at 9th level:

When you cast this spell, you can designate any number of creatures you can see to be unaffected by it. An affected creature’s speed is halved in the area, and when the creature enters the area for the first time on a turn or starts its turn there, it must make a Wisdom saving throw. On a failed save, the creature takes 3d8 radiant damage (if you are good or neutral) or 3d8 necrotic damage (if you are evil). On a successful save, the creature takes half as much damage.

At Higher Levels: When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 4th level or higher, the damage increases by 1d8 for each slot level above 3rd.

Affected creatures take 45 radiant damage on a failed save and 22 on success.

(This is another excuse for using random tables and rolling dice)

Random Tables rolls:

100 Devilish deals for a price: – 58: The Eye of Truth – Make a deal with the devil to gain an enchanted eye that reveals all lies and hidden truths.

Simple Forgotten Realms Treasures: – 86: A golden chalice filled with a mysterious glowing liquid. The liquid has healing properties, restoring the drinker to full health and curing any diseases or poisons they may have been afflicted with.

(I’m getting these random tables at: https://d100tables.com by the way

Final Thoughts:
If these dice look familiar it’s because I have a few sets of these dice in different colorways. I think they come in 8? different color combinations. The first dice review on this site was for the first set of these dice that I bought. Normally I don’t go for Oil-Slick but I haven’t ever seen a set of Oil-Slick dice that have green as the base color. These dice are just gorgeous! Look at that rainbow with the pink and blue on some of the vertices on the d4. The colors change depending on the light which makes them somewhat tough to photograph with a mobile phone.

I love the little blocks on all of the vertices and the sliced up pattern of the faces of the dice. The numbers blend in a little bit with the color of the faces and hinder readability but they still look fantastic when the pink and blue comes out in the right light. These would be great for a character with a green color palate. Now that Druids can wear metal armor and use metal weapons in the 2024 D&D rules, maybe these would be good for a Druid build. (I always think of green as the color scheme for a druid)

These dice rolled very low on the d20 rolls for this review. It’s abnormal but low rolls in game can make for great scenarios so I’ll still bring them to the table with the other sets of these Orifantou dice that I have in various other colors. I hate to feed the amazon machine but I haven’t found these dice anywhere else, and they’d sell for 2x the price in a game store. (which I’d gladly pay instead of giving more money to Amazon)
