Another set of fantastic dice from Honest Dice. How can they keep doing this?
Name: Honest Dice Rainbow 7pc set with 31mm d20
Description: This is a set of 7 transluscent sharp-edge resin TTRPG dice with holofoil inclusions from Honest dice (Formerly Flying Horseduck). Each die is a different color of resin and they each have a bit of solid colored resin in with the holofoil. The d20 is a Chonk at 31mm in size. The font is a modified custom font “based on the Futura typeface” according to the owner of Honest Dice (Nice guy!). The high faces on each die have a carved hexagon with the number of that face un-carved (negative space) inside. The 6 and 9 faces use underbars to indicate their orientation. The d10s have edged waists… very wide edged waists. The d4 die is in the “hex” shape which is the standard for Honest Dice. Also, as is the custom with their dice, they came in nice faux-leather boxes with magnet lids and stiff foam inserts with cutouts for the dice to fit very snugly.

For reference: the Standard Array method totals to: 72 and the Point Buy method totals to: 69.
A 20th level Monk (generated from fastcharacter.com) with a 20 AC and 143 HP surrounded by 10 guards (standard CR 1/8 stat block) with heavy crossbows. They have a 16 AC and 11 HP each. Hint: It’s a trap!
Deflect Missiles (5e): You can use your reaction to deflect or catch the missiles when you are hit by a ranged weapon attack. When you do so, the damage you take from the attack is reduced by 1d10 + your Dexterity modifier + your monk level.
If you reduce the damage to 0, you can catch the missile if it is small enough for you to hold in one hand and you have at least one hand free. If you catch a missile in this way, you can spend 1 ki point to make a ranged attack with the weapon or piece of ammunition you just caught, as part of the same reaction. You make this attack with proficiency, regardless of your weapon proficiencies, and the missile counts as a monk weapon for the attack, which has a normal range of 20 feet and a long range of 60 feet.

One guard dead and another hurt. The arrows don’t do enough damage to hurt the Monk. The Monk can deflect from 26 – 35 points of incoming damage (1d10 + 20 + 5) and return it for 1d10 + 5 damage.
The only catch is that the Monk has to use their reaction to deflect the missile and they only get one reaction per turn. When faced with 10 enemies like this, I’d guess any monk would just spend for Ki to become invisible and sneak / run away.

Final Thoughts: These dice are from yet another Kickstarter campaign by Honest Dice (nee: Flying Horseduck) that I’d signed up for just after I received my fancy Aluminum and Titanium dice (see posts: 108 and 109) from his previous campaign. The guy who runs Honest Dice makes such fantastic products that it’s hard not to jump right into each new Kickstarter campaign that he launches. I think this is my 4th straight campaign of his that I pledged. He just gets it when it comes to look and feel for a solid set of dice. He’s not fancy with inclusions (just holofoil) and he’s very meticulous with his quality control. The precision in the manufacturing of these dice is impressive. They feel great, they look great, they roll well, and he works hard to create dice that are balanced, and even went so far as to come up with a new number layout on the dice so that there is no bias in the rolls.
These dice are sharp resin (which I obviously love), and tinted in gorgeous colors – look at that black cherry tinted d12! The high faces on each die have numbers carved in negative space in a hexagon which doesn’t bother me as I still get the rush of seeing the 20 showing when I roll a natural 20. The Holofoil inside almost all of the dice shines and catches the light very nicely. For some reason the d10 and d% don’t have holofoil. The d10 has some kind of black swirly pigment inside and the d% is dark gray with a smoke effect inside. Physically these dice stop quickly in a dice tray, which is always my preference. I don’t like my dice to wander.
I’m not sure what to say about these dice other than they’re gorgeous and I’m glad that I bought them. Yet another “pride” set where each die is a different color. I’m not sure why I’ve been diving into rainbow sets like this much more recently. Maybe more companies are releasing sets with rainbow options and I just love the different colors so much that I’d rather buy one set with all different colors than try to choose between the 7+ different colored all-the-same sets.
Honest Dice still have some dice from this Kickstarter campaign available on their website as of 8/2026 but quantities are limited. I’d strongly recommend looking through the dice on his website. They’re fantastic looking and reasonably priced if you’re a dice goblin and are willing to pay for high quality dice. i.e.: they’re not cheap but not overpriced.
I’m hoping that some day he makes Tungsten dice as that’s one of the few remaining types of dice in my Wanted List and they’re so hard to find.
** I’ve added a new value to the reviews called “Chi-square” which is a calculation of the difference between of the number of times each value was rolled in the d20 roll test compared to the number of times each value would be rolled in a perfectly equal roll test. (perfectly equal means every value comes up the same number of times, or [total number of rolls / number of sides on the die]) Chi-square gives a sense of how far away from the statistical average the results of the d20 roll test were. It’s not a perfect measure of a die’s balance and fairness but it’s a good step in that direction.
